Product Description
The Original Reusable Filter for Chemex - Now Better than Ever
The new 4th generation Kone brews better, is easier to clean and more durable than ever.
The Able Kone is loved by coffee pros, competitors and enthusiasts alike. Its forgiving, yet capable design makes brewing pour-over coffee approachable for everyone, while living up to the uncompromising standards of coffee professionals. Featuring a new square-to-round hole design, radiant mirror finish, and more durable construction, the newest Kone is the most capable yet.
___
Updated Design: Brews Better
The Kone features a new square-to-round hole design, graduated-density hole pattern and polished mirror finish to prevent clogging and facilitate a more even flow of water through your coffee grounds for better extraction and consistent flavor. The updated design more effectively prevents sediment from passing through the filter and optimizes water flow rate whether you're brewing a single cup or larger batch.
___
New Materials: Easier to Clean
The new radiant polished stainless finish and square-to-round hole design traps fewer oils and grounds, and prevents clogging. Constructed from a single piece of stainless steel, the filter has no additional layers or pieces for grounds to become trapped, making it easy to keep the Kone clean and your coffee tasting good.
___
Better Construction: The Most Durable Kone Yet
The high precision seam weld along the side of the filter features twice as many contact points as before, creating a tight, durable seal capable of withstanding serious daily use. The certified food-safe plastic support ring maintains the integrity of the Kone's shape and makes handling safer and easier after you brew.

having this as a second model works out well since no two filter brands are the same ... allows for experimenting with different grinds and draw-down times.
Update: it has developed a vertical crack despite being handled with care, hand washed and stored properly. I’m very upset.
The secret to brewing good coffee with this, as other have pointed out, is the grind. Using a medium fine grind is what I've found to work the best.
The cup of coffee that this produces strikes a good mix between a Chemex and a french press, there is very little sediment and it lets more of the oil from the beans into the coffee.
The main reason I got this was to reduce the amount of paper filters I went through (on average about 2 per day). Over the course of a year this should pay for itself, but still it's a rather pricey investment. The fact that it's made in the USA made it easier for me to justify, that and watching a few interviews with Able Brewing made me realize how much they love the craft of making good coffee.
One tip I would throw out there is to use an Aeropress funnel as a way to let the Kone drip dry after it's been cleaned (I found this tip on a coffee blog and can't claim credit for it).
Despite how expensive it is, I'd recommend the Kone to anyone who enjoys their Chemex or Hario and is looking for a way to cut down on the amount of paper filters they use, or to someone who is looking for a new way to brew coffee with their Chemex/Hario.
UPDATE (12/9/2015) The Kone has been holding up great, little signs of wear, it still works perfectly. It cleans easily and the brew time has not slowed at all since original purchase. The Kone filter has saved me quite a bit of money (I brew a batch 2-3 times a day). I highly recommend this if you are a frequent coffee drinker, it's a great value.

Its a pricey item but I am confident that I will be using this every day and therefore a justifiable purchase.
Aggiungo: associata a chemex 6/8 cups ci sta perfetta
